Summer

"Then followed that beautiful season...Summer.   Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."             Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Edinburgh, Scotland

My family and I spent a fabulous holiday in Edinburgh, Scotland recently.
After arduous planning for the past six months, our trip finally came and went
--too quickly--
as holidays do.
Some photos of our lovely trip.
Scott Monument
Sir Walter Scott
Jenners
Jenners Department Store was the first independently owned store of it's kind in Edinburgh.  Built in 1838, but destroyed by fire in 1893 and rebuilt in 1894.
It was aquired by House of Fraser in 2005.

The caryatids were intended to show symbolically, that women were in support of the house.

Goosey Goosey Gander

Fun to watch, but they do need to stop leaving their messes all over my lawn and beach area.  I should have put a plastic pink flamingo in the yard--I've heard they scare geese.
When it comes right down to it, I like the critters too much to chase them away.

I look at life through my
camera lens.

This is my first contribution to the weekly challenge and my
photo depicts one of the two categories.
