Catching Up

April blizzard on our last trip to Lake Julia, before we sold it.

A lot can happen in a year's time and I feel a bit remorseful for not posting any pictures the past 14 months.
Really, unforgiveable.
But, it was a year to remember and a year to forget in so many ways.

Selfie in my Parka in a late spring blizzard in Minnesota.  I secretly loved the snow.
We sold our lake home in Minnesota.  I do miss it, terribly.  There's something about a cabin on the lake that I find peaceful and serene.
The house sold quickly and we ended up buying another log home in the White Mountains in Arizona.
It's nice, but not the same.

Our newest grand-baby.  Born a year ago July 13, 2013.  So much time has gone by.

My middle son married a beautiful red head a year ago.  Lovely, charming wedding.

Madeline Our devoted labbie--passed away at thirteen years this past March.  There isn't a day I don't miss her and wish she was still here.
There are life events that create stress and there are life events that create excitement.  The past year has provided both ends of the spectrum.  Selling a home.  Buying a home.  Birth and Marriage.  Sadness from loss.  We forge ahead and look for a new day.  What else can we do?

Summer

"Then followed that beautiful season...Summer.   Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."             Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Edinburgh, Scotland

My family and I spent a fabulous holiday in Edinburgh, Scotland recently.
After arduous planning for the past six months, our trip finally came and went
--too quickly--
as holidays do.
Some photos of our lovely trip.

Jenners
Jenners Department Store was the first independently owned store of it's kind in Edinburgh.  Built in 1838, but destroyed by fire in 1893 and rebuilt in 1894.
It was aquired by House of Fraser in 2005.

The caryatids were intended to show symbolically, that women were in support of the house.
